History of MicroTech Automotive Systems
MicroTech Automotive Systems was founded in Sydney, Australia in December 1991 after recognizing a gap in the electronic engine management system market. MicroTech tackled the task head on and created what in effect was to be MicroTech’s first Engine Control Unit (ECU). It was an analogue potentiometer adjusted ECU that ran injected early modeled vehicle more adequately.
The first units were called the MicroTech D4 and were a screwdriver adjustable unit; this was followed by the D4s and D5.
In 1996 the MicroTech DIGI and DIGI2 were the first digital systems produced. They were later redesigned making them able to control auxiliary outputs and inputs.
The MT series was released in 1998 and later upgraded to the LT series in 1999. The LT series included laptop interface software and the potential for multiple auxiliary outputs and inputs.
MicroTech continues to grow with its products and accessories being sold both in the domestic and international enthusiast aftermarket automotive arena.
